چکیده
Mining is an essential activity that supports the provision of raw materials. However, extraction process mining has deep environmental impacts. For this reason, restoration actions are mandatory, and monitoring a key step in ensuring renaturalization affected areas. Erosion processes one main problems affect restored areas extractive activities due to frequently steep slopes difficulty revegetating technosols constructed using debris. This research aims develop method for determining soil losses water erosion mine-restored by Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Remote Sensing (RS) tools. study, images obtained Unmanned Aerial (UAS) open pit mine used, from which Digital Elevation Model (DEM) current state (0.10 m spatial resolution). With GIS techniques, ridges rills gullies generated detected, whereby estimation first DEM before erosive second after can be constructed. Each these DEMs evaluated individually order determine height differences estimate volumetric loss. At same time, results validated with derived official mapping agencies’ airborne Lidar data (1.00 resolution), yield consistent quantification despite difference resolution. In conclusion, high resolution drone facilitated detailed processes, obtaining vast inaccessible usually immeasurable traditional field altogether improving restoration.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) for Monitoring Soil Erosion in Morocco
This article presents an environmental remote sensing application using a UAV that is specifically aimed at reducing the data gap between field scale and satellite scale in soil erosion monitoring in Morocco. A fixed-wing aircraft type Sirius I (MAVinci, Germany) equipped with a digital system camera (Panasonic) is employed. UAV surveys are conducted over different study sites with varying exte...
متن کاملGrassland habitat restoration: lessons learnt from long term monitoring of Swanworth Quarry, UK, 1997–2014
Habitat restoration projects are often conducted when prior use or extraction of natural resources results in land degradation. The success of restoration programmes, however, is variable, and studies that provide evidence of long term outcomes are valuable for evaluation purposes. This study focused on the restoration of vegetation within a limestone quarry in Dorset, UK between 1997 and 2014....
متن کاملA Novel Fully Automated Soil Erosion Monitoring System
Soil erosion is one of the biggest global environmental problems. Finding new innovative systems to measure soil erosion more accurately is a priority. An effort is being carried out in this study to use automated electronics in order to systematically and accurately measure soil erosion. In addition, the frequent measurements taken will help collect a large amount of data on soil erosion. The ...
متن کاملMonitoring Soil Erosion Using Land Cover and Tillage Derived from Satellite Imagery
Under the North Sea Agreement, Norway was obliged to reduce the discharge of nutrient salts from agricultural fields by 50% within 1995. Remote sensing from satellites can be used to monitor soil tillage in the areas concerned. An experiment was carried out which shows that it is possible to classify the different agricultural classes with a high degree of accuracy using LANDSAT TM images. Howe...
متن کاملReviewing Soil Erosion in Greece
Mitigating soil erosion, especially in Mediterranean countries such as Greece, is essential in order to maintain environmental and agricultural sustainability. In this paper, scientific publications related to soil erosion studies in Greece were reviewed and categorized. To accomplish this, the online search engine of Scopus was used. The key words were “soil”, “erosion” and “Greece.” An analys...
